Every July 4th, Manzanita hosts crowds who gather in town celebrating the holiday. Our parade tends to be the highlight of the day, floats, candy tossed to the kids, fancy automobiles, candy tossed to the kids, and anyone who wants to walk the parade route. Oh, there's candy tossed to the kids. Also, every July 4th, volunteers from the local CERT chapter place themselves along the route trying to keep the adults from rushing into the street attempting to gather the tossed candy. The kids help with crowd control too.
