Disasters take many forms and happen any time. Be it floods, wind, snow, or earthquakes, shelter from the elements becomes a basic need. The Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay regularly practices ways to fulfill this need. Recently a significant number of volunteers gathered at the North County Recreation District's facilities in Nehalem for training to provide communications, health services, feeding, and general safety for its area. Valuable lessons learned and mistakes made scored this event a resounding success.
The Emergency Volunteer Corps of Nehalem Bay has scheduled a first-time- offered class covering the content from its earlier YR101 and 102 classes. This class serves as a refresher for those who have taken both 101 and 102, but is open to those who have not taken either 101 or 102. Scheduled for Saturday, October 26th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Fire Station 13. For those who have taken 101 but not 102, this class gives credit for 102. Additional information may be found here.
